Australian violinist Michele Walsh is a graduate
of the University of Adelaide. She was national winner of the ABC competition and concertmaster of the Australian Youth Orchestra.
She studied in London with the distinguished violinist Szymon Goldberg during which time she performed extensively throughout
the UK, Austria and France.
Michele was associate concertmaster of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra for ten years,
and in 1988 was appointed lecturer
in violin at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and Head of the String Department . In 1994, Ms Walsh was guest Concert Master of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra for much of their
concert season including the acclaimed tour to China.
In 1995, she appeared as guest Concert Master of the Australian
Chamber Orchestra and the Adelaide Chamber Orchestra. Michele has appeared as soloist with the Adelaide, Melbourne, Queensland
and Canberra Symphony Orchestras. She
maintains a high performance profile, making regular appearances as guest concertmaster with TQO and the Australian Chamber
Orchestra amongst others. Michele is also a member of the Griffith Trio and appears on several CDs under the Tall Poppies
label.
