About China Stars Events China
Stars Events is a Brisbane based organisation that focusses on organising and presenting quality events in international locations
so that participants are able to enjoy significant cultural exposures and experiences as well as participating in excellent
events. It held its first, the China Stars International Friendship Games, in August 2005 and now holds this growing event every year. Over the years it
has grown and now offers competition in girls' hockey, football, netball and tennis and boys' football and tennis. Using the extensive contacts built up by the Director over the past 15 years, China Stars
Events can also offer via your chosen travel agent bespoke tailor made experiences that cater for sporting and musical/choir groups. Extending our events into the cultural arena
to present tutti world youth music beijing is a natural progression in line with our philosophy
of enhancing the educational experience of young people.
China Stars Events is an event organiser that works in
conjunction with your chosen travel agent. We do not organise your flights for you - our speciality is organising your on
ground experience. China Stars Events will only work in conjunction with a travel agent licensed in your country and will
direct any enquiries about travel arrangements back to them. Please see our Worldwide Travel Partners page for the recommended agent(s) in your country. Whilst you are not bound to use them, it is a requirement that the agent
you do choose is licensed.
With its Head Office in Brisbane and an office in Beijing run by
a native Beijinger and with its long term extensive relationships at high levels in China, China Stars Events looks forward
to being able to take you and your group for an experience of a lifetime.
Why come to one of our events??
Over the years the organisers of China Stars Events
have been involved with many successful annual international school age events. With a long background in education followed
by 15 years of event experience we know
- what
young people are looking for ( fun, socialising, meeting people from other countries, seeing and visiting things not available
in their home country and being engaged by experts in their field );
- what teachers/conductors are looking for
( learning from leading music educators, good quality performance venues, education enhancement, building group cohesiveness
);
- what parents are looking for ( value for their hard earned money, experiences for their children that help
broaden their view of the world, safety and care ).
Our events provide all of these and more. And what better way to get these experiences
than by venturing to countries that offer a totally different cultural view of the World
The people
Underlying the success of all the events I have worked on over the past many years has
been my commitment to a set of core values focussing on the enhancement of the educational experience and enrichment of the
lives of all the young people who attend. Our events bring together young people from diverse cultures, races and religions
and from home situations that range from poverty to affluence. Yet the love of music brings them together and enables them
to speak a common language and this truly is a wonderful experience at an important formative time of their lives.
I am pleased to present our second international music festival in Beijing. tutti world youth music+ beijing promises
a week of music and learning plus lots of fun and enjoyment as groups from around the World assemble for this truly historic
event. Our artistic Director, Paul Dean has assembled a stellar faculty and we look forward to working with
many of them again.
I invite you to come to Beijing in July 2013 and to be part of tutti
world youth music+ beijing
Peter Armstrong BA,DipA&VEd,FISM Director China Stars Events
When appointed
to a Brisbane private boys' school in 1997 as its first full time Rugby Director, Peter already had 27
years of experience either as an entrepreneurial businessman, TAFE lecturer, secondary school teacher or representative
level rugby coach. Believing that the cultural divides are lost on the sport playing fields, in late 1997 Peter founded an
organisation that was eventually to pesent
the biggest annual international school age sporting and cultural events in Australia. He opted in
1999 to relinquish the Rugby Director position in favour of the challenge of building this new organisation focusing
on enhancing the educational experience for young people around the World. Deciding to move in a new direction to benefit
those students who are culturally focused, in 2007 he presented in Brisbane the internationally acclaimed Bonyi International
Youth Music Festival.
Peter began his involvement in China in 2004. In early 2008 Peter made a firm decision
to pursue the international thread further and independently founded China Stars Events to focus on presenting events
in Asia and the sub-continent. It took two years of planning to again present a cultural event this time in Beijing with 2011 marking the
successful introduction of tutti world youth music beijing. 2013 will mark Peter's
16th year of presenting international events for over 24000 school age participants and 42 years after he presented his first ever
event when at university.
Awarded the Australian Sports Medal in 2000 in recognition of his long
contribution to youth sport development, Peter is an Honorary Councillor of the Beijing Association for Promoting International Sports Exchanges
and a Fellow of the Institute of Sport Management.
